Emily & Jake’s DC Ranch Engagement

They sipped wine on a hilltop in Paso Robles, the sun illuminating every blade of grass that blanketed the green rolling hills in the distance. It was a beautiful March afternoon in wine country, just the two of them and their picnic basket, celebrating their anniversary. This basket had been with them through countless picnic dates in San Fransisco during the pandemic, each one seemingly small, but packed with sweet little memories that strengthened their bond during lockdowns and far past those days when the world stopped turning. Of course they would bring it along on their anniversary getaway, it had become a simple symbol of their love story. And of course it was with them on this sunny hilltop, when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!

After learning Emily and Jake’s charming proposal story, I knew that their engagement session would be a dream (and I was absolutely right)! They sipped champagne as we explored the beautiful courtyard and hallways of the Country Club at DC Ranch. The breeze gave life to her flowy white dress, and they gave life to each other with every glance and smile. The weather dipped in temperature just as we started shooting, and every laugh and kiss that they shared was so genuine and filled with so much joy! We ended with polaroid shots of that Hallmark Arizona sunset, and it felt like a dream. These two absolutely adore each other, and it shows in every way. I cannot wait for their wedding day! Emily and Jake, it was an honor capturing this small piece of the big picture, and the best is yet to come!
