Courtnee & Isaac’s Sweet Rainy Wedding

I don’t think I’ve ever cried more at a wedding (aside from my own of course), and I think everyone who attended Courtnee and Isaac’s big day can say the same. Especially during their sweet ceremony, where even the sky seemed to be drenching the cheeks of everyone who witnessed their union. The bridesmaids huddled beneath translucent umbrellas as one of the maids of honor held an umbrella over her sister, the bride. The best man held a black umbrella over the groom as he himself was exposed to the rain. Just one small example of the selflessness of this group of people, creating a day centered around Courtnee and Isaac’s happiness, and that’s the way it should be! Thinking of a moment that stood out to me was actually pretty difficult, because there were so many moments that gave me a lump in my throat and and brought a smile to my face. But perhaps the sweetest few minutes to witness were just after the ceremony, as we ran under the patio for cover from the rain. They signed their marriage license, and we all exclaimed, “It’s legal!” Courtnee and Isaac embraced and swayed back and forth, and his emotions took over. He simply couldn’t believe that this was real, how blessed he could be to marry this woman and call her his forever. Tears streamed down his cheeks as she held his face in her hands, then hey touched foreheads smiling so big and laughing with each other. It was quick and intimate, and it simply took my breath away.

These two are so special to me, and if you read their story, you’ll know why. Back when I first met Courtnee, she was a bridesmaid in a wedding of a dear friend, Chanel (who was now a bridesmaid and owner of the Photo Booth at Courtnee’s wedding, full circle!). Courtnee has come so far in her health journey since then, and I am so proud to have shared even a small part of this experience with her and Isaac. From wearing her grandmother’s pearls to packing 300 people into one room, love surrounded these two within every minute of their wedding day, and will do the same every minute of their lives together. Mr. and Mrs. Miller, I’m so extremely elated for you two, and I can’t wait to witness as you walk through life together, side by side. And even in the darkest, rainiest storm, you two never batted an eye or complained, and your sole focus was on each other. And it always will be. So let the rain fall, because now you get to share an umbrella forever! Congratulations you guys!
