Pavitraa & Matt’s Sparkling Sunset Engagement

Below the horizon, the Arizona desert was glowing a dazzling gold, blanketing the valley in an orange shimmer that gave every cactus a backlit halo. The sun was quickly lowering behind the pink cliffs of Camelback Mountain as Matt and Pavitraa stood and overlooked their beautiful Arizona home. She held two crystal champagne glasses as he tugged the cork on a bottle of champagne, both squinting as they awaited the “pop” and fizz that followed. We were ending our time together capturing their engagement photos, and this was their celebratory toast to commemorate this day. But it wasn’t just a toast to honor this exciting time as fiancés before becoming husband and wife next year. It was a small reminder to stop every now and then and appreciate everything you’re thankful for (which was fitting because Thanksgiving was the following day). To slow down from the day to day and remind yourself of how much you’ve been blessed with. I was reminded of one of my favorite song quotes: “Thank you for all the good old days that are happening right now.”

Matt and Pavitraa are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and I feel so grateful to have been a part of their wedding experience! We had the best time on this 80 degree November day, laughing as all the other families who were taking photos tried to get their little ones to look at the camera (we all know the crazy noises us parents make to get our kids to smile)! We carefully stepped off the path, trying to avoid cacti, though Pavitraa’s dress seemed to catch on every sharp thing in its path! Thankfully Matt is a gentleman and pulled out thorns and stickers every time 😉 We chased the golden light as it turned into blue evening light, chatting about their wedding plans with me squealing at how beautiful they looked. It was such a privilege exploring with them, and I’m so excited for these two to experience marriage! Congratulations you guys!
