They walked along the glowing lights of the bridge, the same path they had walked on their first date. She knew this was a romantic occasion, but she was unaware of just how special this evening would become, one she would hold in her memory forever. While Kyle’s stomach was filled with butterflies as the ring he carried felt heavier than ever, Tracy took her time and watched an airplane above like it was just another date. She didn’t even notice her brother, Kieth, waiting at the end of the bridge with his camera in hand, waiting to capture the moment their lives changed forever. You can imagine her surprise as Kyle dropped down on one knee, in the same spot where their love story began as twilight set in and the lights over the lake glittered in the evening haze. She gasped as the reality of what was happening sank in while her brother snapped the most perfect images, freezing that moment forever. And I’m so thankful that I’ve gotten to do the same and capture this moment in time for good, as well as their big day next year!
Tracy and Kyle’s session made me realize why I love my job so much. When couples are so sweet, and completely trust me to take care of them (even if that means me squealing because they look “like models” or the light is amazing), it makes my job so incredibly special! Their session was just one of those where I left with my heart feeling so full, and it was so hard for me to pick just a few favorites for the blog! We shuffled through the stone passageways of Scorpion Gulch, avoiding the dozens of other photographers and families, though these two killed it with an audience and you never would have known there was anyone else there! They even got to dance in the middle of the building and giggled as they held each other so close, and my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. We ended our session with an outfit change, complete with cozy Winter accessories, in the glowing desert light in our own secluded section, and it was perfect. So quiet and memorable, it makes me so excited for their wedding next year. Tracy and Kyle, thank you for letting me keep these moments frozen in time for you forever. They will be forever frozen in my memory as well, and I know they will stay in yours too! Congratulations love birds!
