Cara & Riley’s Sparkling Blush Engagement

The sun was fading away as the clouds hung low over the Chicago skyline, turning the water a deep turquoise as they walked toward the edge of the bay, away from the planetarium. She could vaguely see twinkling candles surrounding some sort of book, and as they stepped closer she realized that book was an album filled with photos of their memories, and as she flipped through the pages, she couldn’t help but smile. Then, her heart started to beat faster as her eyes met his, looking up at her from down on one knee. Her hand covered her mouth in surprise, the other still clutching their photo album, and he opened the small velvet box to reveal the most beautiful diamond ring she’d ever seen. Tears filled her eyes as her smile only grew, in disbelief that this perfect moment was real…

Cara and Riley’s sweet story and beautiful tenderness for each other are enough for me to completely fall in love with their union, but add their incredible kind personalities and simply I can’t handle how lucky I am to have met them! From the moment we first sipped our ice waters on that hot July day together, I knew that this experience was going to be so special. The way they look at each other and hold one another makes me so excited not only to capture their wedding day, but to watch their marriage grow and stand the test of time. And their engagement session was pure magic. The glowing desert light and blush pink mountains mimicked her golden hair and sparkly dress in the sunset, while his bright blue eyes popped so vividly against his dark blazer. They held hands, careful not to step on cactus as she held her dress with the wind dancing through her curls, taking in their visit to the desert from their windy city home. And when we saw a snake, Riley had no fear and was ready to step in at any time if that little critter got wise (almost giving me a heart attack from how close he got to it)! I had the best time with them, and I can only imagine the laughs we’ll share on their big day! Cara & Riley, I’m so honored to be a part of this amazing experience with you, and I’m so grateful for your new friendship. Your joy is contagious! I’m so excited to have witnessed the beginning of this new chapter, and the makings of filling many more photo albums in the years to come!
