Kaysey & Doug’s Tucson Engagement

They stood in the spot where they met, seemingly forever ago, the wood floors creaking beneath their feet, the smell of brick oven pizza floating on the air. Others gathered and shopped among the corridors of Time Market, buzzing with the feeling that only a Friday evening can bring. Kaysey and Doug sat at a high table in the corner, feeling all the excitement and nerves of being in front of the camera to capture this special time in their lives. It was only fitting that we started their engagement session in this spot, the place where they had learned about one another’s lives, the place where the flint of their infatuation sparked into something more. They were in law school in Tucson when they came here eight years ago, so this desert city holds such a special place in their hearts. We captured some shots inside, then ventured outside of Time Market, shooting their love on the sidewalks and near the bright pink blooming bougainvillea on the most quaint stoop, the sunlight beaming through each fluorescent petal with a glow as warm as their smiles when they’re together.

The second half of our session was spent in a secluded piece of the Tucson desert, aka, heaven, with rolling hills and pistachio-green prickly pear everywhere we turned. The wind was whipping in every direction, and we were actually cold (gasp), and from there ~~Doug~~ Kaysey turned into Beyonce with the windblown hair look nailed down! 😉 We finished our time in the glowing little valley and gave the quickest hugs and booked it to our cars so we weren’t locked in the gates that closed right at 7:00. We drove away just in time, with the mountains behind us turning their soft purple, our hearts full and laugh lines a little more pronounced. Kaysey and Doug, I absolutely adore you two, and our time together was something I’ll never forget! It was pure magic, as is what’s to come for you two this year and every year following. I can’t wait for your wedding day, and I’m so happy for you!
