It was the same place they had gone on their first date. They were sitting in the park, remembering the night they got to know one other…that night, fireworks exploded in the sky by complete chance, foreshadowing a relationship of earth-shattering booms followed by sparkling colors dancing back down to the ground. The thundering boom is worth what comes after. They were closing out one of the most difficult times of their lives, staring loss, fear, and trials in the face, coming out closer and stronger because of it. He was hit by a car on his bike during the pandemic, and their new love was tested as he fought for his life with major surgery for a brain bleed, all while she couldn’t be with him due to restrictions. And here they were, back where it all started, with so much life packed into such a short amount of time. And that much more in love. And it was there that he asked her to be his wife, beginning a new chapter of their dazzling forever, moving forward and taking all of the wonderful moments they’ve shared with them into this new future to become husband and wife.
