Nate & Cierra’s Intimate Destination Wedding

“The water was so still it mirrored the green trees of the shore line like a painting, distorting the reflection just enough to make is seem more whimsical than real life. The crisp Wisconsin air nipped at their noses on the end of the wooden dock, and singing birds and the click of a photographer’s shutter were the only sounds that could be heard in all the stillness that surrounded them. He was surprised she couldn’t hear his heart pounding in his chest. Her family anxiously watched from behind the photographer as it was Nate and Cierra’s turn to have their picture taken together during this family photo session. He took her hands, and bent down on one knee as her eyes grew wide. He reached into his sock where a small box was concealed, and inside was the most beautiful diamond she had ever seen. She cupped her hands over her mouth as her eyes filled with tears, still in shock that this was all real. She had never felt more grateful or overflowing with joy in her entire life, and they held each other so tight as her family celebrated. It was a picture perfect sight to behold.”

Their engagement story still gives me chills to this day, in the best way possible. We found ourselves amidst the red and peach cliffs of beautiful Sedona, after what seemed like the blink of an eye from Nate and Cierra’s dreamy riverbed engagement session. I walked into her bridal room and gasped when I saw her beautiful lace gown from Grace Style and Bridal, and we laughed as we anticipated the amazing day ahead. I just loved how intimate they kept the whole day, and ditched the traditional bridal party idea so they could keep the focus on each other. The beautiful red rocks made for a breath-taking backdrop during their ceremony, and Nate smiled bigger than I had ever seen when he saw his stunning bride for the first time. These two were not only rockstars in the heat for their bridal portraits, but they made it look easy! I danced with joy when we shot their sunset bridals in a secret spot we found on the edge of the cliffs! The natural pastels of the majestic Northern mountains behind this absolutely glowing couple was more than my photographer heart could handle! And as the breeze dropped the temperatures, I swooned at their green, nature-inspired reception decor. From eucalyptus garlands to a mac-and-cheese bar, I was in Heaven! And doughnuts. So. many. Doughnuts. We ended our time dancing under the stars, and as I watched everyone laugh and twirl, I sighed to myself. This was the perfect way to end the Spring wedding season, and I’m so blessed that it was with Nate and Cierra. They are not only the most genuinely sweet couple, but their love for each other is so apparent in every way they move together. As I would catch them gazing at each other when they thought the other wasn’t looking, I knew. This love will last forever. And I’m so incredibly happy for these two, I just can’t wait to see what their future holds! Here’s to a #happilyeverleidigh!
