“It’s perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say. Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away.”
Whether she was embarking on a new adventure or returning home from one, airports have always left an excitement in Brittany’s heart that she couldn’t describe. Especially when she didn’t have to say goodbye to him, but squeeze his hand as the floated into the air, ears popping and adrenaline rushing. They walked through the airport, the outlines of planes hiding in the grey carpet, excited for their trip to Kansas to witness two friends tie the knot. Little did she know, she would be doing the same much sooner than she imagined. And there, in the middle of Sky Harbor, Robert pulled a very special ring out of his pocket, straight from the approving eyes of her father who happens to be a jeweler. And so, the first of many journeys in their lives began, all before they even stepped onto the runway.
I absolutely love Robert and Brittany’s engagement story, and their wedding day was equally enchanting! They day went off without hitch, and shooting Robert’s groom portraits was like working with a GQ model, and Brittany, well, I’m pretty sure she’s not real. These two are just as beautiful on the inside, and that’s what makes them so addicting to be around! After their breath-taking ceremony, we walked the grounds of The Windmill Winery to find a light-filled spot that seemed straight out of a fairy tale. With the sun shining through the trees, lining each green leaf with a golden glow, we laughed and celebrated their brand new marriage together. They smiled so happily, taking in each moment, knowing this time was so fleeting. And I wasn’t one to let that happen, and I clicked away thinking, “They are not going to lose this moment. This moment stays.” I’m so blessed to have been able to give the gift of remembrance to Robert and Brittany, because I too never want to forget their incredible day. From the lavender roses, flowing dresses, and pastel bowties, I was in photographer Heaven! But more than that, seeing these two become one family was an absolute pleasure, and hearing Robert’s speech to his new bride brought me to tears. I’m so incredibly happy for these two, and I know that they will soar through every circumstance together no matter what is thrown their way. “Always remember that in life, it’s not about where you go. It’s about who goes with you.”
