They walked along the soft, sandy shore, hand-in-hand with the breeze dancing through her long hair. The salty air filled their lungs as they left four footprints in the sand behind them. The Mexico sky was a deep blue, with fluffy whites whips of clouds drifting across the horizon, and his heart was beating fast. As she looked down at her toes sinking in the sand, he took a deep breath and reached in his pocket. And there, on this unforgettable family trip, Austin got down on one knee and took Kirsten’s hand in his. Her eyes lit up as she realized just what was happening, and the next moments flew by faster than either of them could wrap their heads around their new eternity together. And just like that, their futures changed for the better, in a more blissful way than they thought was possible. And months later, they would be back on a beach, hand in hand, but this time with rings on both their fingers. And yet again, they would be happier than they ever thought they could be.
Austin and Kirsten’s soft desert wedding was an absolute dream, in so many beautiful ways. Their day was filled with so many special details, from their “fur baby” walking down the aisle, to a special dance to honor her grandparents’ long, thriving marriage. I was enamored with every carefully thought-out detail, and blown away by the florals hand-made by the groom’s mother! I mean, look at the talent and love that was poured into each sweet arrangement! When I walked into the barn, I could smell the perfume that every centerpiece produced, and every table was stunningly arranged by the talented ladies of Sip and Twirl. From flickering tea lights and mercury vases, to the glimmering lights that dripped from the ceiling, it was as whimsical as it was elegant. The moment the double barn doors opened, an entranced sigh arose from the guests as they made their way to their seats. And I couldn’t help but smile, knowing all the work and love that went into that reaction. Not to mention the sweet little beer burro, Diego, who walked around cocktail hour toting cold beer for their guests! I squealed with excitement as the little spotted donkey made his way toward us, and even more excited when I fed him a carrot. Cutest. Donkey. Ever.
In all seriousness, I am so incredibly grateful to have met Austin and Kirsten. From their chilly engagement session to their warm Arizona wedding, I have seen them experience the most joyful moments of their lives so far. I am so blessed to have their friendship, and so happy for these two! Congratulations love birds! Now raise your salt-rim margaritas up, and cheers to a long and happy marriage!
