Matt & Emily’s Classic Country Club Wedding

She had always wanted a white sand proposal.

She invisioned it so vividly; seafoam bubbling at their barefoot toes while the love of her life proposed in the oceanfront sunset. So when Matt took her to visit the ocean, her heart fluttered nevously, but the trip came and went. She almost felt relieved that it hadn’t happened just yet, because she was sure he knew that she’d be expecting it. What she didn’t expect, was that his plan was more romantic, more personally perfect than she could have ever envisioned, and it would take her breath away more than the salty air ever could.

They both worked at the Gainey Ranch Golf Club, so when he told her to come meet him at work that night, she didn’t think much of it. He pulled up on a golf cart when she arrived, and told her to hop in. He drove her through the dark, winding trails of the golf course, and she was confused as to why they were there, at night, with no light. The breeze blew through her hair as they approached a clean, white sandtrap, then he slowed down and came to a stop. And she saw it. The tiki lanterns, the umbrella, the lounge chairs with floral laies strung across. She turned to him, stunned and still taken offgaurd as he smiled. “I know you wanted the beach, so I brought the beach to you.” And as he pulled out a small ring box, she gasped to see that the box even had it’s own little light so she could see the sparkling diamonds inside. She had never seen a more creative, caring gesture, and it completely knocked her off her feet. Her dream had come into fruition, but it had been better than she could have ever expected. Because she shared it with him.

Fast forward to their wedding day, and we found ourselves standing on that familiar green grass of a golf course, the sand not far from our feet and the sun dipping behind the Arizona red rocks. They had officially been married for barely an hour, and the air was buzzing with excitement as nearby guests chatted with chilled spritzers in hand. The light breeze flowed through heir cathedral veil just enough for it to dance behind her as he pulled her close and kissed her on the cheek. There was no feeling on Earth as enchanting as this, holding each other after making such a sacred promise in front of everyone they love. We rode through the winding path on a golf cart, giggling as they sipped Moscow Mules from their copper mugs, the wind in our hair giving a sweet relief from the warmth. We were in our own secret sliver of bliss, with lavender and pink flowers splashing across they photos like a painting as they laughed face-to-face. It was a breath-taking sight, as was the rest of their day.

After they shared their last kiss and “giggle” of our bridal session, we entered their dazzling reception to behold the stunning decor strewn across each table with care. The mercury candles flickered beneath towering blue and white flowers, with silver and white tableware placed perfectly at each setting. Blue light flooded up the walls creating a dreamy ambiance with a classic elegance. If anyone couldn’t guess that Emily was in the wedding industry, they knew now! 😉 The night flew by in a blink, with incredible speeches and a musical performance from family that had us laughing until our cheeks were sore. Matt and Emily, I can’t tell you enough what an absolute pleasure it’s been being a part of this entire experience with you and your families! I will treasure these moments and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to kick off my Fall wedding season! Let’s clink our copper tins together for the beautiful memories of #swissandhismrs!
