She was behind him at the top of the stairs, and he could feel her presence, but he couldn’t see her just yet. He listened as she descended, her heels clicking against the stairs with every step, seemingly in slow motion. Her crisp white dress and sleek black curls contrasted against the wall behind her as she made her way down to her best friend in the world. The flowers she held created an explosion of color in her hand, mimicking the feeling in their pounding hearts as the moment drew nearer. His eyes welled with tears at the thought of his bride walking toward him on their wedding day, when finally, she made it to the bottom of the steps. She tapped his shoulder and he flipped around so quickly, as if he literally couldn’t wait to lay his eyes on his soon-to-be wife. They both cried tears of elation as they took in what they knew would be an unforgettable moment. It was finally here!
Kaysey and Doug’s big day was so beautiful and blissful, and I honestly never wanted it to end! It was filled with so much classic elegance, and reflected so many elements of the gorgeous Arizona desert, I was gasping all day! Their stunning bridesmaids wore colors that reflected the desert mountains and pink sunsets, and the groomsmen were immaculately dressed in a deep blue that reminded me of the twilight hour just after the sun dips in the West. The florals popped so vividly against the soft color palette and it was simply breathtaking. But beyond that, Kaysey and Doug are so incredibly sweet, and so genuinely thoughtful, and I felt so blessed to be a part of their inner circle. I ran into Doug early before the day began, and he asked ME how I was feeling, on his wedding day! He really cared about everyone’s well-being, and that’s such a wonderful trait. I also listened to Kaysey thank every single vendor for making her day special, intentionally taking time out of her busy getting ready process to do so. I was floored at their kindness, and it made me love my job even more. Kaysey and Doug, I am so excited for you and know you have such a beautiful future ahead. Always remember the pink mountains that glowed behind you as you said your vows, the grass that got stuck in your veil, and the warm sunshine amidst the cold weather that gave you goosebumps. Cheers to a lifetime of love, and many more goosebumps moments ahead!
