Alicia & Nick’s Paseo Wedding

The tall wooden doors swung open as everyone rose to their feet and gasped while she stepped out into the sunlight, arm in arm with her dad. Her mom cried tears of joy and disbelief as she took in the moment she had envisioned Alicia’s entire life, princess gown and all, and her heart overflowed with a bittersweet joy. Nick smiled as his bride walked closer toward him, tears filling his eyes with the same elated shock that this moment was actually happening. And wow, was she beautiful. And while everyone’s misty eyes were fixated on the glowing bride in white, hers were locked on Nick’s. It was as if nobody else existed in the crowd of friends and family, just the two of them in the fast-paced haze that was their wedding day. They were lucky enough to have this monumental moment occur twice, once during their first look, and now, during their ceremony. And though the moments were both different in their own way, they were equally special, and much-needed to take in the many emotions that surrounded the story of this October Tenth.

Alicia and Nick’s wedding day absolutely flew by, mostly because it was so wonderfully packed with special memories that they intentionally planned to take in. Everyone says your wedding day goes by so fast, and this is an understatement! So it was so refreshing to prioritize the small moments like opening gifts, a first look with her dad, confetti poppers, and many more. Not to mention all the dreamy, neutral details of taupes and champagnes, greenery and ivory that adorned every thoughtful aspect of the day. And if that weren’t enough, the pinkish purple Superstition Mountains served as the most stunning backdrop to it all, and I kept having to pinch myself that I got to be there for it! This was also my last wedding before baby girl makes her appearance, and I couldn’t have chosen a more amazing couple (and their incredibly sweet families) to spend it with! I will never know what I did to deserve the privilege of capturing this day, but I’m so thankful I did. Alicia and Nick, thank you for letting me be a part of this journey with you, starting over a year ago! I have watched you handle 2020 with grace despite the uncertainty that went into planning this day, but I’m so very happy that you two were able to have your fairy tale come true. You did it! And I know your marriage will continue in the same pattern of resilience and deep, unwavering love. Promise to always be best friends. Promise to always laugh, even when donkeys aren’t an accessory to future photo shoots. 😉 Promise to love him. Promise to love her. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Griffith!
