It was the first day of the new year.
She looked out across the water, a deep blue that mirrored the clear sky above. She sighed to herself contently, thinking nothing of their day trip to the lake, while his heart was beating fast in his chest. She turned around to see him kneeling, hands at her waist with a smile so big it made her heart flutter. The moment she realized just what was happening, her hands shot up to her face to cover her smile shat exuded to her eyes above her trembling hands. This was the moment that would change their lives forever, beginning 2016 in a more joyful way either of them could have ever imagined. Their sweet puppy ran up to them in their bliss and made the moment absolutely perfect. Talk about new beginnings.
I’ve known Catie since we were Freshman in high school, singing in choir together while I sported some gorgeous braces. I would just like to thank her right now for being my friend in my most awkward-looking stages of life. That’s how you know who your true friends are 😉 Years later, I met Max at a New Years Eve wedding I was shooting, and he was the sweetest groomsman there! I came to find out that he was dating Catie, and that made my heart oh so happy. We all laughed and danced at the reception, and it was as if no time had gone by at all. He proposed THE NEXT DAY and words cannot explain the happiness I felt for these two! You can imagine my reaction when they chose me to capture their wedding. I may have shed a tear. 🙂 Their engagement session was a blast exploring the riverbed and chasing the golden sunset. I loved every minute (except when a cactus got stuck in sweet Porter’s puppy face. Such a trooper!) In all seriousness, I love these two and the pure joy they share together. It’s absolutely contagious and I can’t help but giggle whenever they’re around. They have the biggest hearts and are so genuinely in love, and they complete each other as only best friends can. Congratulations Max and Catie, I can’t wait to capture your happily ever after in the Fall! #thehuntisover
