Larissa & Donald’s Destination Desert Engagement

“Yes!” she excitedly squealed, as she smiled bigger than she ever thought possible, her hand covering her mouth in surprise. The sun was dipping behind the horizon, turning the sky a pale purple while reflecting yellows and blues off the water like a glassy watercolor painting. He rested there on one knee with her hand in his, a stunned look on his face as he laughed. She repeated herself three times, and he still couldn’t believe what was happening until she finally bent down on her knees in the sand with him and took his face in her hands. “I said yes!” she giggled as they held each other tight and realized that this beautiful moment had actually happened. Dolphins (yes, real dolphins) were swimming just feet from them in the calm ocean waters as he slipped the stunning diamonds on her ring finger. And there, on the surreal white beaches of Australia, their lives changed forever.

Donald had known he wanted to make Larissa his wife a long time ago, but he didn’t realize how perfectly his Australian beach proposal would actually turn out! He was waiting for a room to open at a dreamy island there, and it was taking weeks for even one to become available. And when it did, he went out and bought the ring, the day before their trip, getting on one knee the very next day. It all worked out so perfectly, and I know their wedding will be even more perfect! Larissa lives in Germany, English being her second language, and Donald used to live there as well, so listening to them speak in German to each other was so entertaining to me! I was actually pretty jealous that they could both speak such vastly different languages, and I’m so glad their many world travels are bringing them here to make their wedding vows. I can’t wait for these two to finally be able to spend their lives together without a 16 hour plane ride between them, knowing that they will forever be just minutes apart.
