Jason & Courtney’s Blush and Navy River Engagement

He asked her to close her eyes.

As he drove her through the windy roads of Temecula, California, only he knew what the weekend had in store. She opened her eyes to see the allure of wine country for the first time in her life, and was blown away by its beautiful rolling hills. She had always wanted to travel to a winery and to top it off,  he had her favorite moscato in the room waiting for them when we they arrived.

The evening consisted of wine tasting, sitting on the balcony in the cool California air, and watching the sunset until they headed off to a five course dinner. It was perfect. Back in the hotel room, they sat on a cozy couch in front of the fireplace and talked for awhile, and he got up and went to the refrigerator to bring back another bottle of wine. He asked her to read it…

Courtney’s favorite word and meaning is Faith, and she and Jason always say, “Forever And Ever To Heaven, Amen.” This is because the first letter of each of those words sounds out FAETH. They like to think that these little things are signs from God, so they hold tremendous meaning in their relationship. As he handed her an unfamiliar bottle, she gasped. There on the blue and yellow lable were the words “FAETH AMEN” and “27 Reasons.” Their lucky number is 27, and upon turning the bottle around, Courtney read, through tears, all the reasons why he loves her with a description of this one-of-a-kind wine, 27 Reasons. Inscripted in Italian was the phrase, “Mi Vuoi Sposare” which translates to “Will You Marry Me?” As tears flooded from her eyes, Courtney looked up to find Jason bended on one knee. She finished reading the bottle and he softly said, “I don’t have much to give you, but what I have means everything- it’s my last name.” (Lyrics from a Dierks Bently song she had showed him when they were dating). She of course said yes, and was overwhelmed with the love and heart that went into Jason’s amazing gesture.

When I asked Courtney how Jason popped the question, this was something she said that really stuck with me:

“My favorite part about Jason’s proposal (besides everything haha) is that he came up with the idea and words on his own. When he had asked my parents for permission, and when he told mine and his parents that he was going to propose, he didn’t want anybody to see the ring or hear his plan before me. He wanted it to be my story to tell! I am truly so blessed!”

Jason and Courtney are some of the most genuine, caring people I’ve ever met. Their love for each other is so prominent and their joy is truly contagious. This whole wedding experience with them is one I will cherish and I’m so blessed to be a part of this exciting time in their lives! And now that they’ve shared a fairy tale proposal and a dreamy engagement session on an Arizona beach, all that’s left is to count down the days until their forever and ever to heaven, amen.
