Cassie & Shawn’s Lavander and Mint Engagement

She was wearing a sparkly dress, ready to ring in the New Year.

She thought that in this moment, she had everything she needed for her life to be complete. Surrounded good friends, loving family, and an amazing boyfriend, her heart was oh so happy. Little did she know it was about to get much, much happier. They sipped on drinks near the sparkling lights of the Christmas tree, smiling and laughing with those around them, though it seemed as if they were the only two in the room. It was then he took her by the hand, outside into the chilly night, and the door shut behind them and sealed the sounds of the party inside behind it. In the quietness of the evening, he held her hands in his and told her how much he loved her. She began to realize just what was happening, and as he pulled out a dazzling ring, all she could see was his face. This was not only the most incredible beginning to the new year, but to this new chapter in their lives. Cue the fireworks!

Cassie and Shawn’s engagement was nothing short of a dream, with pink pastel rocks and their dreamy color scheme. Not to mention they brought along her adorable puppies, and as a fellow Australian Shepard momma, I was squealing with excitement basically the entire time. It’s safe to say I was in photographer heaven, and I was so shocked that they have never had photos like this before! They were NATURALS! I’ve known Cassie since I was about seven years old, back when we danced together almost every day of the week. Between the rehearsals, sleepovers, and trips that led into high school football games and dance shows, we have literally grown up together! I have seen her become such an incredible person, and when I met Shawn I felt like a proud family member. I definitely approved 😉 You can imagine my excitement when Cassie asked me to capture their wedding, and I may or may not have jumped up and down in my office! I am completely in love with these two and their story, and I can’t wait for their sparkling soirée at SoHo63 this year! I know it’s going to be as dazzling as the night he slid that gorgeous ring on her finger, and as enchanting as their love. And filled with lots and lots of champagne.
