Amy & Jose’s Desert Destination Engagement

It was their one-year anniversary, and they were enjoying every minute on the beautiful beaches of Mexico. The breeze carried the scent of salt on the air while the sounds of waves crashing repeated in the distance. They were surrounded by others laughing in the sun and escaping reality for a few hours, but for all they knew, they were the only two there. They were so happy to simply be in each other’s company, and Jose knew that the moment was right. This was the moment he would ask her to be his wife. And the moment was so “them” and so sweet, and when he got down on one knee, Amy laughed and though he was kidding! When she finally realized that his intentions were true, she gasped and they held each other tight, as he slipped on the temporary ring he made of straws from the pool bar. It was their perfect little slice of pure bliss, and the start of their new happily ever after.

Fast forward to December, and these two flew into Arizona to visit family for Christmas, luck for me! We meet up in the parking lot, and Amy and I skipped over to each other as if we’d known each other for years, even though it was our first time meeting! That’s the kind of people Amy & Jose are; warm and loving and so easy to talk to. It was the perfect recipe for a wonderful engagement session, plus their three little ones were there to join us as well, which made my heart so happy! Not to mention her official engagement ring that practically blinded me 😉 I have been missing capturing families so much, so it was such a treat to run around with Javan, Katie, and Nathan while Nathan kicked up rocks as he ran and jumped up and down every time an airline flew by. It was so cute and I love that age so much! I can’t wait to hug those little ones again at the wedding… Amy & Jose, it was such an honor to capture this season in your lives, and I couldn’t be more excited to witness your vows at the Phoenician next year! It’s going to be a desert dream and so uniquely you. I’ll be counting down the days until then!
