Amanda & Colin’s Sanctuary Resort Engagement

We stood in the same spot where it happened.

The spot where their future changed for the better as the lights in the valley twinkled below them, mimicking the stars in the chilly December sky. Colin took her to the Sanctuary on Camelback for a romantic date night during that quiet stretch of time between Christmas and new Year’s, a time that Amanda thought would be uneventful while visiting family in Scottsdale. She couldn’t have been more wrong. On that beautiful Winter’s evening, he dropped to one knee above the grassy lawn that overlooked Paradise Valley, both of them smiling and laughing as they held each other so close while those around them sighed and shared photos of the big event. It was truly unforgettable to them, one of the many wonderful moments that these two will experience in the years to come.

Fast forward to August, and we found ourselves meeting for the first time, feeling as if we’ve known each other for years! We started our shoot in the very same spot where Colin proposed, and as we walked up to it he excitedly laughed, “This is it! It was here, I can’t believe we’re here!” It was as if they were reliving the whole experience again, this time as fiancés! We wandered around the jaw-dropping resort, compromising with the wind of a dust storm that never reached us, continuously exclaiming how beautiful the desert really is. I am obsessed with these two, their sweetness shines through every smile, and it helps a little that they look like actual models 😉 Amanda and Colin, it was such an honor to be able to freeze this exciting time in your story, even if it was just for a couple hours. I can’t wait for your big day at El Chorro next year, with the same mountain in the background of your venue, always reminding you of where this chapter started. And you can rest assured that on that day, I will be your hype girl, Amanda will be working her blonde hair in the wind, and Colin will thoughtfully have a comb in his pocket…
