She stood in the full length mirror, the light beaming in from the windows behind her in the white bridal cottage. Bouquets of blooming blush flowers lined the small table beside her, leaving a faint perfume of roses in the air when you stood close enough. Her best friends hovered in the corner in their mauve gowns, giggling and sipping champagne. Her mom stood behind her and bent down to fan out the train of her daughter’s white dress, a moment she had envisioned ever since Tracy was a little girl. Her bridal bouquet sat in a glass vase on a small table by the window with two small charms hanging from the flowers containing photos of her best friend and grandmother who were in the room and in everyone’s hearts in spirit. Tracy took a deep breath as she saw her reflection, the embellishments in her wedding dress glimmering in the mirror, and tears filling her eyes. She just couldn’t believe this day was here, and she was minutes away from seeing the love of her life. So many emotions filled her heart and trickled out of her eyes; the excitement of marring her best friend, the sting of missing those who couldn’t be there, the nerves, the anticipation, the pure and utter joy…it was overwhelming and beautiful. She was ready. She opened the door into the bright sun, and walked around the corner to see her anxiously awaiting groom…
The rest of the day ran so smoothly and we were actually ahead of schedule for photos! I think I said “This never happens” at least ten times! Tracy and Shaffer’s friends and family were so wonderful and made our jobs so easy while making us feel like part of the family, and it made my heart so happy. And the kindness was no different from this incredible couple, which is why I love this job so incredibly much. I get to live my dream of capture all this beauty, but what makes it so worth while is when I get to serve such wonderful people. Tracy and Shaffer, I couldn’t be happier for you, and I feel so honored to have been a part of your inner circle on the most important day of your lives. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for you, and I’m so glad that he caught a keeper and had her hooked for life!
