She’s not a crier, but she cried on this day. Lauren and Ben had just seen each other for the first time on their wedding day, drinking in every sweet moment with their sides hurting from laughing so hard. They were surrounded by vibrant green trees that lined the Sedona creek bed, the red rocks peeking through the sparkling water behind them. The light dappled through the trees and danced on the green grass below in little glowing bursts, while a small breeze floated through the leaves as Lauren and Ben unfolded their paper vows. She went first. Before she could even get the first few sentences out, her eyes became glassy and she stopped, stunned by what was happening. “I never cry!” she joked, smiling as she wiped tears while he gently touched her waist, then they shared another countless burst of laughter. She spoke her beautiful promises to him, then it was his turn. As he said his personal vows, the familiar lump came back and tears spilled over again. It was so breathtaking to witness, knowing that these two were so meant to find one another, and this moment was one they will remember forever.
Lauren and Ben’s wedding was visually breathtaking. The Sedona backdrop with greenery everywhere, the fluffy white and green florals, the cascading gold candles, her stunning dress, the gorgeous sunny day…it was a photographer’s dream come true! I was in Heaven! BUT, I loved these two and their people even more, the constant laughter, their yin and yang, their senses of humor combined with their adoration of one another…This is why I do what I do. These experiences are intoxicating, and I have to pinch myself and remind myself that it was real. It was an unforgettable day, and I’ll feel forever grateful to have captured it. Lauren and Ben, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both. As you move forward in your lives together, as you build your dream home, and share many more laughs and tears, always look back on this day and those intimate vows you made to one another. Let them ring in your minds forever, as I know they’ll ring in mine! Cheers!
