“The castle was radiating in the cool night air, with projections of color as it enchanted the crowd in front of it. It was the beginning of the sparkling firework show, with hundreds of onlookers smiling and taking in the beauty of the diamond-studded night sky. Jenny looked on, caught up in the magic in true Disney fashion, thinking that this moment couldn’t be any more dazzling.
She had never been more wrong.
She felt a hand touch her arm and gently turn her around as she gasped in surprise and confusion. What was he doing here? She had been visiting Disneyland with her girl friends, and Cooper was supposedly at home in Arizona. She was shocked to see his face, let alone what he did next. As he bended down one one knee and presented her with the most beautiful ring she had ever seen, an explosion of glittering fireworks bursted from the castle above their heads. It was magical. Enchanting. Straight out of a fairytale, with the greatest happy ending. She wrapped her arms around his neck, reeling with more emotion she could contain. For this perfect moment, for finding her best friend and soulmate, and for a love story like Carl and Ellie’s.”
Skip ahead to almost a year later, and he’s standing with a blindfold over his face, wishing so badly he could take it off to see her. She inched closer, her eyes turned away from him, both their hands reached out as far as they could until finally, their fingertips touched. The both smiled and let out a sigh of relief as the gripped each other so tightly. These were the sacred last moments before they would become husband and wife, and as they stood facing away from each other, they couldn’t have felt closer. They chatted about how excited they were, and how they couldn’t wait to get married as the sun sank lower through the trees, dusting everything around them a golden green glow like Tinkerbelle’s magic. The clucks of the chickens nearby was all that could be heard, aside form their giggling, and time stood still for this perfect moment. They kissed each other’s hands, then went their separate ways before seeing each other on either end of the aisle. The rest of the day ran so beautifully, from all the touches of Disney’s “UP” to our sunset portraits among glowing bougainvilleas. The entire day was so enchanting, and it was just another wonderful chapter in their love story. And I just know these two will live happily ever after! Cooper & Jenny, I’m so grateful for you, and I couldn’t be happier for your fairytale to begin! And in the words of a certain Disney movie we all know and love, “Thanks for the adventure, now go have a new one!”
