It was a year ago on a chilly October afternoon in the mountains. They were surrounded by aspen trees as they walked through the tall grass, the damp autumn leaves sprinkling the ground beneath her boots. Nick had been planning this day for the longest time, the nerves fluttering in his stomach as he walked beside Alicia. She didn’t even notice the photographer following them… While planning out this day, Nick had custom-ordered a wooden sign to commemorate officially asking Alicia to be his bride, and he had originally made it for October 9th. Alicia, being the planner that she is, decided that she would have rather hiked this trail on October 10th to better fit their Flagstaff itinerary, and Nick had the sign rapidly remade (gotta love us planner girls)! It read: “Alicia and Nick – October 10, 2018 -Lockett Meadow.” And that is the sign they held for photos after he got down on one knee among the beautiful Fall trees! Their photographer sneakily snapped photos of the entire event, and then a celebration shoot after, and they had never been happier! It was truly unforgettable and beautiful, and this time of year will forever have such special meaning as we shot their engagement session October 9th, 2019, and their wedding will be October 10th, 2020! Talk about an anniversary to remember!
Our session was so incredible and filled with so much light and love. We basked in the golden hour sunset as they danced underneath the early moon and popped champagne to sip as the sun dipped low. We laughed, she twirled, and I was lucky enough to capture the spirit of their love for one another! It’s something that is even more magical than those pink glowing mountains or the halo of light that surrounded these two. I am so incredibly excited to capture their big day next year and to watch their lives become all the richer as the years pass. So here’s a fizzy champagne toast to mark down one more year together, and many more forever. Cheers!
