Tim & Jessica’s Plum Downtown Wedding

He stood with his hands folded in front of him, looking at the ground with a smile forming in the corners of his mouth that he just couldn’t hide. Shifting his weight from one foot to another, he took a deep breath and gave me two thumbs up. He had been anxiously waiting to see her in her wedding dress since the moment he got down on one knee. He was more than ready to see his bride. As the door opened behind him with a “whoosh” and the cool air pierced through the heat of the afternoon, he looked up, smiled, and slowly turned around…

Tim and Jessica’s big day was filled with little moments that took my breath away. From the moment I walked into the bridal suite, I was welcomed by everyone so warmly, and I couldn’t wait to witness as their beautiful day unfolded. Their industrial-meets-elegant-venue was perfect for their vision, and the downstairs ceremony space was a dream! I felt like I was in the scene from Frozen where Sven the reindeer is running through the trees with icicles in his antlers! It took everything within us not to run through the candlelit trees singing “Let it Go, Let it Goooo!” Talk about an oasis to escape the harsh summer heat! The rest of the day ran so smoothly, which in the wedding world, is RARE, and the night ended just as soon as the day flew by. Looking back, I remember when we shot their engagement photos in May, we had talked about this day as if it was so far in the future, and it snuck up on us way too fast, in the best way possible. To be able to take part in so many little moments throughout that day that were so special, so unforgettable to these two, was an absolute privilege. I’m so thankful that I met Tim and Jessica and their little ones over coffee so many months ago and for their friendship. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Simonis, you did it!
