Shauna & Kyle’s Fairy Tale Wedding

Their hopes and dreams for the future reside in their hearts, as well as a small, wooden box. On the the top of the box, the words “Shauna & Kyle” are written in gold, with two little hearts drawn on. If you open the box, you’ll find small hand-written notes with goals that they had set for their relationship, some silly and simple, and some life-changing.

“Always go see new Disney movies when they come out, even if we’re old.”

“A nice house.”

“Have a family, raise great children.”

“Get married.”

How incredible that as they check off aspirations that have been met, the “Get married” dream can finally be marked as completed. And how special that they can look back on these small white slips of paper long after they had hoped to make these things happen, and they have now actually happened. And as for the ones that have yet to happen, they’re things to look forward to. Things to hope for. Moments of this life that they will build together with a foundation laid in friendship and love. It was a detail that wasn’t surrounded by wedding flowers or flickering candles, and it was so simple and sweet. But it had to have been my favorite detail that they included in their day, and that’s saying a lot as there were SO many amazing Disney details incorporated! Shauna and Kyle are huge Disney lovers, and he actually proposed in Disney’s California Adventure (Disneyland)! They had Beauty and the Beast-inspired centerpieces and florals, and hidden Mickey’s everywhere, even in her bouquet and on their cake (look closely)! It was romantic and so special, and it was the most beautiful day filled with so much love. Shauna and Kyle, I’m so incredibly excited for this new chapter in your story, amidst all the craziness of rescheduling and rolling with the punches. Seeing your relationship thrive through it all has been such an honor, and I can’t wait for you to live through those white paper slips as you create your own story. A story that you will look back on when your hair is gray and your faces are wrinkled, and you will smile as you remember this tale as old as time…
