Matthew & Ashley’s Blush Winery Wedding

The doors opened, letting in a burst of the cold December air. She squinted as the evening sun bathed her white gown, stepping out into the warm light as everyone turned around in their chairs and smiled. He gasped as tears uncontrollably escaped his eyes, the eyes who had been craving to see her face all day. There she was, the one who caught his eye so long ago, her golden hair dancing in the breeze, intertwined in her delicate lace veil. He cupped his hand over his mouth and bent over to catch his breath, in awe of the beautiful woman at the top of the stairs. In a few short minutes, that beautiful woman would be his wife, and the immensity of his thankfulness was almost more than he could handle. Her green eyes never left his as she made her way up the aisle, her lips pressed together as if not to lose it all as tears welled up, on the brink of spilling down her rosy cheeks. Those steps felt like an eternity. She was finally close enough to touch, and they let out a sigh of relief together, realizing that this was the moment they had been waiting for all this time. The moment that they will never forget, and would override their titles from “fiancés” to “Mr. and Mrs…”

I met Matthew and Ashley back in April this year (it seems so long ago now) and I remember waiting in that coffee shop, ready to go shoot their engagements. We had never met because they live in Utah, so I was a little nervous about them being comfortable with me and opening up in front of the camera. I had absolutely no reason to be the least bit concerned. These two are my people, and we instantly clicked the moment they walked in! Their engagement session was an absolute dream, and I never thought their wedding could outdo all the pretty from our time by the Arizona river. WRONG AGAIN. Their wedding was enchanting, from their soft color palette to the eucalyptus leaves that adorned their tables and garlands. I was in heaven! And all of that would have been enough, but it was these two incredibly kind souls who made the day so unforgettable. I am so grateful to call these two my friends, and I only wish I had met them sooner. Matthew and Ashley, it has been an incredible honor to capture these huge moments in your lives, and I can’t wait to capture more. Your love is so genuine and pure, and it emulates through your smiles and the way you two compliment each other perfectly. I can’t wait to see what the next year holds and I’m so happy to have you grace my last full wedding blog of 2015. Never change, never stop making each other smile, and always make the other’s eyes light up when you walk into a room. You already do it so well.
